DePaul University Chicago
"The Table Tennis Wii promotion at DePaul was a great success and, for the second year in a row, full of kids truly excited about video games. We teamed up with the DeFrag Gaming Club and took over their large computer lab at the downtown DePaul campus. DeFrag members are all serious gamers. We had 32 sign-ups and around 50 people present for the promotion. Competition was heated. These gamers were in it to win it, and towards the end, some hearts were broken when the coveted Joola ping pong table eluded some of the finalists' grasps. The last few matches were very close and the gamers that had just learned how to play the game that day, by the final rounds were playing like pros." - Chess Hubbard / DePaul -
Wisconsin
"The Wii tournament was awesome. The event was held at one of Wisconsin's south east dorms in the heart of campus. Students from all around checkout out the game. Everyone had a blast competing and eating and just hanging out. The final game came right down to the wire, and after a solid hour and a half of competition we finally found our victor." - Charlie Berens / Wisconsin -
USC
"The USC Rockstar Nintendo Wii Ping Pong tournament, held at the Two Nine Cafe and Sports Bar, can be summed up in four words: Food, Drink, Heated Competition! Even the beginners were immediately roped into the game and definitely IN IT TO WIN IT! After a quick tutorial, the players jumped in and eliminations began. In the end, it came down to a fierce match between Rogue Ping Pong Extraordinaire, David McCary, and seasoned and well-trained representative of the USC Ping Pong Posse, Akhil Pruthi." - Andrea Smith / USC -
UGA
"At UGA the Tournament went Down as only it could, 'BETWEEN THE HEDGES'!!!... Table Tennis for Nintendo Wii is an awesome game with sick graphics and wicked player action control. Everyone had a lot of fun including these two Lady Dawgs, who were getting instructions for how to play the game from my man Steve, before making their way to the battle field. Shouts out to Steve and Paul who were totally awesome. People couldn't believe how freaking cool the game was to not only play but to watch others play as well... I was told to let any other schools that think that they might be ready to take a Bulldawg butt whipping to come barking hard. I mean after all, we Bulldawgs believe in a little healthy competition." - Marlteze Saffold / UGA -
Northeastern
"The event at The Otherside Cafe went very well. We had a 12 player tournament and during the tournament the game got a lot of exposure. Many people also came up and played the game before and after the tournament. The large signs fit perfectly both inside the cafe and on an outdoor window so many onlookers came in asking what was going on - as were those on the patio. The food and service was great and very accommodating as well." - Travis Farrenkopf / Northeastern -
Illinoise
"The University of Illinois had a blast hosting the Rockstar Wii Table Tennis Tournament this past week! The event was held at one of our favorite campus bars, Joe’s Brewery, where we were able to reserve our own party room, fully stocked with drinks and finger foods to enjoy between games. We had a great turn out and positive crowd response to the new game. Everyone was eager to try it out, even if they were not entering the tournament and many stuck around just having fun watching the intense competition..." - Danielle Javier / Illinoise -
Florida
"The University of Florida had a great time hosting the Rockstar Table Tennis event. A bunch of people showed up and the tournament was extremely competitive. The game is really easy to learn and the rallies are exciting. Our record rally was 96 hits! Everyone had a great time. We would love to host more events like this!" - Kai Lamb / University of Florida
